Sunday 10th October

Didn't sleep in but boy am I tired.  4.30 and in the airport shuttle on the way to the airport.  There is already one other passenger and we are on the way to pick up another one.  I was the last to be dropped off.  As this flight is not counted in my 'round the world ticket' I am only allowed one bag so have to pay $60.00 for the 2nd one, still cheaper than paying for excess baggage, which I was, luckily, not guilty of, I was under on both.  Whew.

Arrived at Logan airport on time and was surprised at how many shuttle buses and local buses were passing through, not to mention taxis and private cars picking people up.  There were shuttles for all the car hire companies, Fly & Ride buses, hotel shuttles and terminal to terminal shuttles, at times parking 2 deep.  Lots of horn blowing going on here.  Asked an official where I needed to be for my hotel shuttle and he sent me across to the 'share ride' area.  After 15 minutes of nothing coming through there I started looking around to see what was happening on the other sections.  There were 3 in all, divided by the roads that the shuttles came in on.  I was on the one furthest from the building.  I noticed one shuttle for a Hampton Inn on the section closest to the building.  Went across and spoke to him but he was from a different Hampton Inn.  He said he'd put a call through to my hotel and get someone out.  My driver came, apparently he had been there once already but because I was on the wrong side I missed him.  Anyway, another part of my adventure over and 2 hours after arriving at the airport I was in my hotel.  I was rather impressed, after the rooms I'd been in so far this one was a nice surprise, it was huge, could have swung 50 cats if I got the urge.  There was a rather nice leather lounge, a  bed that would fit me and the 4 grandkids comfortably, and a microwave, not that I plan on doing any cooking, I'm only here for the night.  Sorted out my bags for my trip to New Bedford.  I'm leaving the cases at the hotel, no point carting them around for 2 days, all I need will fit in my backpack.  10.30 and in to bed, absolutely knackered & I've lost 3 hours today.  No Photo's for this day but don't worry, there'll be plenty when I get to New Bedford and Martha's Vineyard.
