Idaho

Sunday 7th November

On arriving at Boise airport, I could see Laura and Michael were as excited to see me as I was them.  Michael videod it but I will wait until I get home before putting the videos he took up here.

We went down to claim my baggage to find one case was one of the ones removed in Chicago.  They assured me I would have it the next day.  We finally got home about 4am.  A long night for all of us.

Monday 8th November

Woke up at 9.30.  Poor Michael hsad to be up at 6.30 for work but it was his last day before the winter break.  I had a day out with Laura and Janet, it is shopping day for the girls.  We left home about 11 and got back about 6.30.  Twin Falls is about 45 minutes drive away and there are a lot of places that we went to for the week's shopping, Costco, WinCo, Pet Mart, and I can't think of the others right now.  We got home to a nice dinner cooked by Michael and Terry.  My suitcase arrived about 6.45, delivered to Janet and Terry's house.  I was in bed by 9, totally exhausted.  I think all 3 of us will sleep well tonight,

Wednesday 10th November

Woke up to see a light snow flurry, which lasted about an hour, but it did stick so I took some photo's.  There was supposed to be rain too but the clouds disappeared and the sun shone for the rest of the day.  We went for a drive to get lunch.  Michael and Laura wanted to introduce me to a Juicy Lucy, you can see the photo's and eventually the video and see what you think. It did taste good but not that easy to eat.  On the way home we stopped at the Trading Post where I bought a few things, one big one for me.  A Native doll to add to my small collection.  Will definitely have to get to work on that Native room.

Friday 11th December

Watched my first full game of college football, they wear a lot of padding, couldn't imagine Trav dressed like that for his games.  I actually got into it though and Michael and I made a real footy night of it with a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat beer.  Boise State Uni was playing Idaho, we were going for BSU, and they won.

Monday 15th November

Janet took Laura and I out for a drive to Banbury to see alligators, luck was with us as we found them up on the bank, sunning themselves.  We had a photo stop at Billingsley Creek, a cute little get-away place.  This goldfish were huge dad, they wouldn't fit in your pond.  Lunch was at Snake River Grill, alligator, didn't taste too bad either.  As it is Monday and shopping day we then went into Twin for the girls to get their groceries.  Tried to post parcel #5 off home but the girl said it was too big, gave me 3 customs sheets, I had to itemise every single thing that was in the box.  It weighed 28lb (12.7kg).  Janet suggested leaving it till we'd tried the post office at home.  Tea was eaten once again at the Hampton home followed by a game of marbles.  Didn't take me long to get back into the game.  Janet and I beat the pants off Michael and Terry.

Tuesday 16th November

Dinner was over at the Hampton's again, and a pay back game of marbles.  The boys did a good job of putting us in our place.

Wednesday 17th November

Sent Tracey a happy birthday text, I usually get the date wrong so hope it got it right this time, with the time difference I tried to guage it so it arrived on the right day,
Went to the local post office with my big box and it went through no trouble at all, not too big and only 1 customs form.  Not sure if I'll beat it home though.

Thursday 18th November

Went to Twin Falls to purchase tickets for Harry Potter, Saturday afternoon show.  We had a Thanksgiving dinner at Laura & Michael's house with the Hampton's and Michael's cousin Cathy.  Once more there was no room for dessert, sorry Gem but nan just couldn't do it.

Friday 19th December

It had snowed up at Michael's work today, Terry rang us to let us know and thought it may be headed our way, no such luck.
Friday night football once more, at the Hampton's house.  There was snow on Terry's truck, which Laura and I hadn't noticed, the truck being white, but Michael was a few steps ahead of us and chucked something that went between us.  I wasn't sure what it was at first, a bloody snowball.  Ok, two can play at that game so I gathered some snow of the front bumper.  It wasn't quite as soft as the stuff Michael got from the tray of the truck.  Terry was all decked out in his BSU gear, even had a flag to fly.  It was a good game, or should I say anhilation, BSU won 51 - 0 against Fresno, California.

Saturday 20th December

That snow finally did get to us, whilst we were sleeping.  There was a nice amount out on the ground.  Michael and I had a real snowball fight before we took off to meet the the Hampton's for lunch at Local Dish.  They had a nice buffet, or as they call it, grazing plate.  Harry Potter was good, and I can't wait for the second part to come out now.  Might have to see this one again with the kids before the 2nd comes out though.

Sunday 21st December

It's 2.45 and the alarm is going off, time to get up for the 2 hour drive to the airport.  On the way we had a quick stop at a truck stop for Michael a snack and a coffee.  The weather was very kind to us and we made it to the airport by 5.45.  Another sad farewell, I'm getting too many of these in a row, but it was sad to say goodbye to 2 people who have claimed me as one of their family.  Thank you so much Laura and Michael, and thanks to the Hamptons and Cathy for making my stay so much fun.  Looking forward to seeing you next time round, and I've got my fingers crossed for Kellen to get the Heisman Trophy.

I went through security at 6.45, no pat down this time.  On board luggage was being tagged again to be put in cargo hold.  The overhead cabins on these small planes won't take the roll on cases, I just hope we don't have a weight problem again.  7.50 and the door is closed, so no weight issues.  I watched a guy check the wings for ice then give the ok so we're off and rolling at 7.59.
