You know what time I woke up, so I won't
repeat myself, did the usual morning stuff and put on a load of
washing, and whilst drinking a cuppa I watched a squirrel walking
across the pool cover. Nothing interesting in that hey, but it
was funny when the wind rippled the cover, the poor bugger looked
rather apprehensive about getting off there. It didn't seem to know
whether to run or take it slowly.Lucky for you I didn't have my camera
at hand.
Riley went off to hockey trials, he gets to find out if he's going up a
grade today, and Shaena and I took Sydney to dance. After
dropping Sydney off, Shaena and I had a nice lunch in a cafe, then went
round to
Simcoe
Panorama, a really nice park that had Canadian geese that don't
migrate. One was a little poser, it came over and posed for the
camera and once I'd finished it wandered away. We then went back
to get Sydney changed for her next dance class. Shaena had a
theatre audition to go to, I've got my fingers crossed that she gets
the part, and after we picked Sydney up, she also had to go for a
theatre audition, fingers crossed for her too.
Shaena got the news that Riley had been picked to go up to the next
level in his hockey, hopefully that's the start of the good news, and
as we all know, everything comes in threes so hopefully that is #1 and
the girls will both get the parts they auditioned for.
Sadly, it is now time to leave Port Dover, we went via the hockey arena
to pick up Dan & Riley then head off to Brantford to catch my train
home. I'm travelling with Via Rail this time, with many thanks to
a friend of Dan & Shaena that got me a complimentary ticket.
It was very windy at Branford station so we sat in the station cafe
where a young guys was singing, accompanied by his guitar. Just
before my train was due, Shaena asked if she could sing a song for me
before I left, it was beautiful, Shaena has a fantastic voice as you
will hear on the short movie I took. I hope Shaena doesn't mind
me sharing it with you all. You will see the train pull in
through the windows behind Shaena, Dan put my cases on board for me and
then it was really time for farewell hugs, a few tears but a lot of
wonderful memories, and a solid promise that I will return. I got
a beautiful card, crystal lighthouse with dolphin, a Port Dover pen
with my name on it and the Port Dover mug that I had been drinking my
tea out of at their house.

I arrived back in Toronto around 5.35, caught a taxi back to the hotel
and you wouldn't believe it, the internet was still down. On
checking at reception he assured me that he would have it fixed in
about 30 minutes, it didn't happen of course and after trying again at
7.15 I figured it was going to be a waste of time. Not sure who
I'm connected to but I found a connection that allows me to upload to
my webpage so I ain't complaining too loudly.
Whilst checking my Facebook and trying to decide whether to go down to
a Sports cafe to watch the GF, I saw a message from Shaena, made me
feel a little bit silly after making sure you all knew the time
difference between you and where ever I am, Shaena informed me that the
game was Friday night, the night we were at Niagara Falls, and not
tonight.....duh George......oh well, Niagara was worth missing a GF
for. Checked AFL.com to find the game was a draw and there is to
be a rematch, don't know if I'll get to see that as I'm not sure if it
will be televised in Jasper.
I decided to use my time usefully and go through my cases to see if I
can lighten the load a little, the extra weight hasn't developed my
biceps thank goodness. I'm sure there is plenty of stuff that can
go home before me. I put the coffee maker on to boil some water,
no I'm not making coffee but they don't have kettles in these hotels,
and 30 minutes later, suit cases done, the water is only just starting
to develop air bubbles, I'll really appreciate this cuppa when I get
it, and thanks to Shaena I am loaded up with a stack of Earl Grey tea
bags :-). It's now 8.30 and I'm drinking my tea in my Port Dover
cup, cheers guys. 9.30 and I think I'll see what's on tv and hit
the sack at 10.30.
